Job Summary
You are a commercial construction professional looking to grow your career with an established industry leader. You are responsible for the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations by ensuring that service and warranty jobs are completed in a timely manner. As the Service and Warranty Superintendent, you will work independently or with direction from the Service and Warranty Specialist, to implement schedules, quality control and supervise the work of labourers, contractors and trades people.

  • Supports the general project close-out duties in a timely and consistent manner ensuring the submission of close-out documentation and the tracking of how efficiently deficiencies were addressed
  • Coordinates and schedules the onsite work of sub-trades, supervising work performance, and providing site access as required; performs inspections to ensure completion of warranty jobs, and provides updates to Service and Warranty Specialist
  • Maintains thorough and accurate tracking and reporting of task progress and job completion
  • Performs site visits to review and prepare a scope of work for service requests, including walkthroughs with client to review deficiencies and warranty items; documents and summarizes findings, and provides scope of work to Service and Warranty Specialist
  • Near the end of a project, completes on-site orientation session with project team to gain familiarity to gain familiarity with the project and stakeholders and brief the project team on the warranty process
  • Consults with Service and Warranty Specialist to coordinate activities such as equipment rental and material tracking
  • Prepares templates, checklists and other warranty/deficiency specification documentation as required
  • Performs minor repairs such as touch-up painting and minor carpentry
  • May perform other related duties as outlined in Ledcor's Construction Operations Manual

  • 5+ years of commercial construction related experience; previous trade experience or experience as a Superintendent preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office application (Word, Excel, Outlook); strong aptitude with large ERP software and database systems is required
  • Independent and self-motivated with the ability to take the initiative to troubleshoot assigned tasks and liaise various internal and external stakeholders
  • Task-oriented with an excellent sense of priority, logic and objectivity; highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated reliability, judgement and professionalism
  • Excellent customer service focus and problem-solving skills; ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Strong data entry skills; ability to find and correct errors in documents
  • Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver's license
  • Must have and maintain a clean driver's abstract
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements
  • Applicable security and background checks will be performed as needed pending client requirements
