Job Summary
You are an experienced administrator with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business. You will preferably have a background in the forestry industry or have a passion and drive to learn this sector. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of the scale at Ledcor's cant mill, which includes tracking, recording and monitoring the weights and measures of logs. In addition, you will perform basic bookkeeping and provide administrative support for site operations.

Based at Ledcor's sawmill and canting facility in Chilliwack, BC, this role is an excellent opportunity for an administrative professional seeking a long-term role within the forestry industry.

  • Operate scale software in a fast-paced production environment
  • Support incoming drivers with scaling procedures per Forestry regulations
  • Perform and/or coordinate standard maintenance on scale and related equipment
  • Maintain regular communication with Woodlands team
  • Provide basic bookkeeping support to the Woodlands division, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Assist project staff with procurement, including purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Liaise with operational staff to ensure invoices and billings are submitted to meet accounting and month end deadlines
  • Perform general administrative tasks and basic office management
  • Perform ad-hoc project work as required
  • May perform other related duties as assigned

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative role within the forestry industry; log knowledge would be an asset
  • Previous bookkeeping and administrative experience, including accounts payable and receivables
  • Scaling experience or knowledge would be a significant asset
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office products, particularly Excel
  • Solid data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to collaborate with operations team members
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Required to successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

Work Conditions
  • Site based position
  • Ability to work morning shifts 6:00am - 2:30pm, with flexibility to work other shifts/hours for coverage will be required
