Job Summary
You area Technical Operations Manager who will be responsible for providing the management, upkeep (24x7) and growth of the IT infrastructure and for maintaining operational processes within the Ledcor Group of Companies,able to manage software and hardware solutions through the teams of Systems Administrators, Database Administrators and Support Technicians that work in an advantageous manner for the company while ensuring reliability and security.
This position can be based in either Vancouver, BC or Edmonton, AB.

  • Works with Directors and Managers in the organization to ensure support needs are addressed as efficiently and effectively as possible
  • Responsible for driving the product strategy and management of our cloud services, platform infrastructure, and public APIs
  • Establishes operational objectives, strategies and work plans to improve current operations as well as planning for future products, employee requirements and business continuity
  • Manages workloads by delegating assignments to team members, and tracking to ensure optimal use of team members' time
  • Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements
  • Manages third-party hardware and software maintenance and support contracts
  • Oversees technology, application and technical resource allocations
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff on technical and administrative matters and identifies areas of development and improvement for the teams
  • Mentors and challenges the team and assists team members in meeting their individual goals
  • Establishes standard processes for diagnosing issues, tracking and escalating issues within and outside the group
  • Develops product and process improvement plans to reduce support efforts and increase product availability and scalability
  • Ensures proper relationships are established and maintained between employees, partners, and vendors to facilitate the delivery of IT services

  • 5 or more years experience in managing a team of 5+ responsible for the operations, management and support of large company's mission critical systems or environments
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience, with a preference for Computer Science or related degrees
  • Microsoft, Cisco or other technology certifications are desirable
  • Proven track record of process and performance improvement of product reliability and supportability, and reducing support efforts
  • 10 to 12 years overall experience maintaining enterprise operations and technology
  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to direct and make progress on multiple projects/issues simultaneously while controlling the workload
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting ability for issues in complex environments along with the ability to pursue multiple causes and/or solutions in parallel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in communicating and providing updates at various levels of an organization both internally and externally
  • Proven ability to present and discuss technical information to technical audiences and be able to explain key points for non-technical audiences
  • Experience with using support tracking tools to monitor open cases and current workload, identify trends and eliminate repetitive and future problems
  • Knowledge of Telecommunications (LAN/WAN/VOIP etc.) is desirable
  • Demonstrated IT skills gap analysis and performance optimization skills
  • Ability to link the right people with the right technology in delivering business solutions
  • IT delivery and data center operations experience is required
  • Experience with technology architecture and integration, emerging technologies, enterprise architecture, IT infrastructure design and implementation is desired
