Job Summary
You are an experienced Loader Operator proficient with operating all types of straight or articulated rubber-tired, tractor-type vehicles with front mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift equipment.

  • Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspection
  • Operate all equipment functions independently and safely
  • Ability to operate all functions of the equipment safely including, moving levers to lower/raise and tilt bucket, driving equipment forward
  • Start engines, move throttles, switches, or levers, or depress pedals to operate equipment
  • Interpret stakes and signage on the land
  • Coordinates loader activities with other drivers and operators
  • Conducts positioning or moving of loads in response to hand or audio signals from team members
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust controls of machine to exact positions as necessary
  • Operator will work daily to ensure deadlines are met in a changing environment
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions included but not limited to extreme temperatures (heat and cold), rain, sleet, snow, wind, and/or wet/humid conditions
  • Adhering to site specific rules and regulations
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Maintain safe driving distances
  • Maintain excellent communication
  • May perform other related duties as assigned

  • Valid Class 5 license
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • 1-3 years industry experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (spoken and written communication)
  • Must possess valid CSTS .09 (Construction Safety Training Systems) certification
  • Must possess valid OSSA (Oil Sands Safety Association) certification or OSSA (Oil Sands Safety Association) Basic Safety Orientation certification.
  • Must possess valid WHMIS 2015
  • Must possess a valid form of government issued photo identification
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision

Work Conditions
  • Camp work: Camp based position with full accommodations provided
  • Shift: 7/7 shift rotation working 12 hours per day
  • Travel Info: Charter flights provided from Edmonton and Calgary
  • Benefits: Benefits provided by CLAC
  • Work conditions/weather: Work will be primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
