Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager for Design and Engineering maintains ownership of the Design Schedule and Work Flow Process. They ensure that the schedule is updated and communicated to the Project Support Team, Engineering Teams, and client. They track the Ledcor deliverables from initiation to IFC (Issuance for Construction). The Senior Project Manager for Design and Engineering is a client facing position. It is the role of the Senior Project manager to instill confidence in the client and communicate clearly Ledcor's efforts on their behalf. The Senior Project Manager manages a Project Support team in the effort of managing schedule, communicating between teams, and defining points of escalation.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project. Promotes overall compliance of Ledcor HS&E standards, applicable OH&S Acts, regulations and codes with all employees and subcontractors on the project
  • Drives work flow process to meet deliverable schedule
  • Meets regularly with client to report on progress and resolve any client concerns
  • Develops and maintains the design and engineering schedule in conjunction with project team to meet milestones and completion dates
  • Leads project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project's ongoing progression
  • Provides strong leadership to construction team members, capitalizing on individual and group strengths to ensure project targets are achieved
  • Identifies and manages opportunities and risks to achieve the best possible impact on schedule and financial targets
  • Maintains, tracks, and reports all financial aspects of project including forecasts and billings
  • Contribute to Project Management Organization (PMO), demonstrating innovation, standardization of processes, and an overall aim of bettering LTS Design and Engineering
  • Performs other related duties as required


Requirements
  • 8 to 12 years related work experience or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • 3 to 5 years experience as a Project Manager or in a similar direct managerial/supervisory role
  • 5+ years in a client facing role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management practices, including driving an end to end schedule
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements
  • Strong negotiation/management skills
  • Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule
  • Operate with a sense of urgency and efficiency
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple stakeholders and anticipate stakeholder needs
  • Ability to determine a problem's root causes, identify short and long term solutions, anticipate patterns, and look beyond the immediate problem to the wider implications
  • Ability to understand and present complex ideas, anticipate potential objections, prepare case accordingly, and persuade others to adopt a point of view
  • A track record of building successful teams and promoting teamwork through motivating, coaching, and consensus-building.
  • Skilled in facilitation, mentoring, and conflict resolution
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
