Job Summary
You are a professional administrator seeking a dynamic critical support role with diverse responsibilities. Further to this, your ability to demonstrate initiative in an autonomous environment will see you succeed in this role. You will be responsible for a variety of administrative and coordinating tasks to support the operations team.

Based at Ledcor's Forestry Operations site office in Abbotsford, BC, this role is an excellent opportunity to further develop your career!

  • Act as the first point of contact communicating with management, staff, contacts and visitors, and acts as a resource for general administrative inquiries and information
  • Completes administrative tasks such as: answering phones, photocopying, filing, faxing, managing calendars, preparing expense reports, coordinating mail and couriers and preparing and distributing correspondence
  • Assists with the coordination of meetings including scheduling, booking resources, compiling required materials, compiling and distributing meeting minutes and making catering arrangements
  • Act as the Occupational Joint Health & Safety meeting administrator
  • Orders office supplies and equipment as required. Coordinate computer requests, IT requests, phone and office move and other installations
  • Prepares purchase orders in JDE for the operations
  • Makes travel arrangements as required
  • Maintains and updates various contact and distribution lists for the department or project
  • Assists manager(s) with preparation for the arrival of new hires as required
  • Conduct research and/or review administrative processes in order to improve upon the products, services and support provided
  • Manage ad hoc projects to support site operations as required
  • May perform other related duties as assigned

  • Several years of experience in an administrative or coordination role, ideally with exposure to payroll, crew scheduling, accounting, and/or other employee matters
  • Completion of some post-secondary coursework in Business Administration and/or Human Resources would be an asset
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to collaborate with operations team members
  • Conflict management skills
  • Must possess tact, diplomacy and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
