Job Summary
You are an experienced Loader Operator seeking a great wage, extensive benefits and a company who prides themselves on safety. You will be responsible for all types of straight or articulated rubber-tired, tractor-type vehicles with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspection
  • Operate all equipment functions independently and safely
  • Ability to operate all functions of the equipment safely, including moving levers to lower/raise and tilt bucket, driving equipment forward
  • Start engines, move throttles, switches or levers, or depress pedals to operate equipment
  • Interpret stakes and signage on the land
  • Coordinate loader activities with other drivers and operators
  • Conduct positioning or moving of loads in response to hand or audio signals from team members
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust controls of machine to exact positions as necessary
  • Work daily to ensure deadlines are met in a changing environment
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions included but not limited to extreme temperatures (heat and cold), rain, sleet, snow, wind, and/or wet/humid conditions
  • Adhere to site specific rules and regulations
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Maintain safe driving distances
  • Maintain excellent communication
  • May perform other related duties as assigned


Requirements
  • Valid Class 5 license or valid form of government-issued photo identification
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • In good physical condition in relation to job requirements
  • 1-3 years industry experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (spoken and written communication)
  • Must possess valid OSSA (Oil Sands Safety Association) Basic Safety Orientation certification, OSSA Common Safety Orientation certification or CSTS .09 (Construction Safety Training Systems) certification
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Experience operating articulating trucks would be an asset


Work Conditions
  • Camp-based position with full accommodations provided
  • 7/7 shift rotation, compressed work week, 12 hours per day, overtime after 80 hours
  • Flights provided from Edmonton or Calgary
  • Benefits provided by CLAC
  • Work will be primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
