Job Summary
Ledcor's Technical Services (LTS) division designs, builds, installs and supports communication networks across North America. We are seeking to fill a new role of Director-Field operations for an undisclosed project which will be based out of our Toronto office. This position will oversee the delivery of LTS's field Installation operations in Ontario for an upcoming project with a major service provider this will be reporting to the General Manager of Canadian Field Operations.

  • Build and lead a high performing team in the delivery of services to customers throughout Ontario
  • Manage key customer relationships to ensure work is delivered meeting all KPI's and exceeding stakeholder satisfaction
  • Oversee the quality, time and compliance, health & safety metrics against Service Agreements
  • Report against defined customer SLAs and KPIs
  • In partnership with LTS' resource planning team, maximize the utilization of field technicians across the region
  • Ensure on-time arrival of technicians at customer locations and reduce/eliminate misses
  • Develop, pilot and implement innovative plans for continuous improvement relative to business and operational KPIs
  • Attend and actively participate in executive and management meetings (internally and with customers)
  • Identify potential revenue opportunities and maintain active participation in the development of solutions for existing and new customers
  • Implement newly contracted services and ensure the subsequent on-going delivery of those services
  • Identify and address gaps in service delivery establishing new policies and procedures as required
  • Lead budget performance and efforts to optimize the cost of service
  • Ensure employee engagement, support and recognition is a priority and carried through at all levels in the organization
  • Collaborate with our external partners to ensure successful field execution
  • Develop effective relationships between all customers and service providers to the organization, internally and externally
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with business unit leaders to understand all issues and drivers

  • Minimum of 5 years of senior level management experience in the telecommunications industry
  • Broad knowledge of telecom and cable / MSO industry in Ontario (FTTC, FTTH, CATV, HFC, coax, home automation, mobility)
  • University degree in Business Administration along with certifications, diplomas or training in business analysis, telecommunications, and project management are key requirements for success in this role
  • Proven record of demonstrating past success in customer fulfillment operations, new product introductions, planning, strategy development/implementation, and technology integration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to plan and organize your workload and work with multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas, project and process concepts with ease and clarity from field technicians to executives
  • Strong teamwork skills and a demonstrated ability to secure co-operation and commitment from peers in other departments and divisions
  • Understanding of business issues and challenges within the telecommunications industry
  • Self-starter and initiator, highly adaptable; you are restless when improvements can be made
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve business and operational results in a client focused position
  • Direct experience with change management required - planning, communication and execution
  • Strong analytical and problem- solving skills in applying a methodical approach to problem resolution
  • Demonstrated budget expertise and financial control skills
  • Strong computer skills across a variety of planning and user software programs
  • Effective at accomplishing goals and exercising judgment
  • An understanding of both inside and outside telecommunications plant - cable, fiber and twisted pair is an asset
  • Please note that there will be some travel required and a flexible work schedule is an asset as well
