We are seeking an experienced Technical Trainer for new technician training in Toronto, ON to support a new project with a major service provider.

Responsibilities
  • Instruct Technicians in receiving and completing work orders from a centralized dispatch centre ensuring that routes are efficient, and that service is delivered in a timely manner
  • Train both in a classroom setting or one on one in the field Train technicians how to troubleshoot technical issues Train technicians on installation of drops, Nids, modems and TV related equipment
  • Train techs on Coax applications Instruct technicians in how to trace and locate appropriate telecommunications links, which could involve climbing telephone poles, working in confined spaces (attics and crawl spaces) and climbing ladders
  • Utilize a laptop computer and various software applications Ensure technicians are completing tasks in a safe and efficient manner


Requirements
  • At least 4-6 years of experience training and mentoring individuals including technical training in the Telecom field from a coax perspective
  • Degree or diploma from a technical college would be an asset Previous work experience in telecom / cable services in installation and repair is an asset
  • Previous experience working independently
  • Previous experience in updating training manuals and adding additional modules
  • A strong technical aptitude ability to manage a physically demanding position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, working at heights
  • Must be computer savvy, able to handle multiple computer applications
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Self-Motivated, ability to prioritize and organize technician training with little direction Strong leadership skills Excellent knowledge of understanding of the Telecom industry
  • The ability to collaborate and work in a team structure
