Job Summary:

You are a highly experienced and energetic Project Engineer, who will use your strong attention to detail to ensure adherence to the engineering drawings and specifications applicable to the project ensuring on time completion of the scope of work.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervise engineering team and monitor their work to ensure high quality standards are met or exceeded
  • Provide operational, strategic, and contractual advice and service to project management team when associated with design management and engineering
  • Manage delivery of guidance and service support to project meetings to contribute a clear view for delivering design management and engineering
  • Ensure that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficiently accurate information for construction of the works
  • Liaise with QA/QC department to ensure that inspection and test plans accurately capture the requirements of specifications. Support the QA/QC department to ensure that the construction team understand the requirements of the inspection and test plan
  • Manage all day to day engineering activities currently being undertaken. Including assessment of permanent and temporary works design requirements and the appointment of suitable resources to satisfactorily complete the work
  • Confirm verbal instructions received from the client / designer staff and ensure that comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works are maintained
  • Ensure that all changes in client / company standards are captured reviewed and briefed out to all staff critical personnel involved
  • Communicate effectively with construction teams and commercial staff to ensure full understanding of information provided
  • May perform other duties as required

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in a related role within the pipeline industry
  • Completion of a 4 year engineering degree
  • Experience and familiarity with pipeline (oil and gas) methodology and practices
  • Knowledge of CSA Z662 standards
  • Able to read and understand construction documents
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, and ability to quickly learn new software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, combined with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to explain difficult information clearly and influence others towards consensus agreement in straightforward situations
  • Able to identify problems/issues and generates solutions and makes sound decisions using standard procedures
  • Capable of probing and listening carefully, presenting information clearly in an appropriate style and persuading others in straightforward situations
  • Willing to contribute actively in team activities, sharing experiences and ideas

Work Conditions

  • Site based position - 6 days on 1 day off or other various shifts
  • LOA or camp based position
  • Remote locations
