Job Summary:

You are an experienced Payroll professional with strong leadership skills. Using your attention to detail and customer service orientation, you will monitor and oversee the payroll process, for supervision of the Pipeline Payroll team, and for processing bi-weekly payrolls as required.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the payroll team of professionals, and ensure operational requirements are met by scheduling, assigning and monitoring work for accuracy and timeliness
  • Manage the training and onboarding process for all members of the project payroll team, and assist with team hiring as necessary
  • Process full-cycle salary, hourly, union and non-union payrolls as required
  • Produce daily, weekly, monthly reporting relating to the workforce and develop processes and procedures to identify anomalies
  • Work collaboratively with teams to ensure the successful resolution of any issues that arise
  • Assist with trouble-shooting journal entry and payroll entry errors in JD Edwards, and work with the parties to resolve said issues
  • Manage the process of monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations of general ledger accounts, payroll burdens associated with the Canadian payroll process 
  • ADHOC reporting as required
  • May perform other duties as required

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in a full cycle in house role, preferably in a pipeline environment with 2+ years of proven leadership experience
  • Certification by the Canadian Payroll Association as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) 
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, and ability to quickly learn new software
  • Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organized, with an ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, combined with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Work Conditions

  • Site based position - 6 days on 1 day off or other various shifts
  • LOA or camp based position
  • Remote locations
