Job Summary:

We are seeking multifaceted, self-motivated, customer service focused individuals to be part of our team. This position is great for people who enjoy lots of travel, working outdoors and operating independently with a best in-class approach to customer service.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer locations and perform site surveys
  • Provide a high level of customer service ensuring that any escalations or concerns are completed as requested and addressed in a professional and courteous manner
  • Perform layout planning and detailed coordination/clarification of details, which includes ordering and taking inventory and materials on site
  • Engineer fiber trough systems, ladder rack and associate iron work in various deployments (raised floor, cement floor etc.)
  • Engineer different types of equipment in various racks and cabinets and power up for testing
  • Work with detailed drawings of a rack layout diagrams; redline to update if needed
  • Support customer and internal installations teams which includes communicating and escalating engineering issues
  • Deliver detail engineering package including specifications, customer records, and drawings
  • Calculation of material requirements and technical specifications
  • May perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ Detail Engineering experience. 5 years installation/testing experience and abilities of a Lead Installer is required
  • Extensive knowledge of Central Office infrastructure required
  • Comfortable and skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel/AutoCAD/Visio
  • Able to identify out of scope work and change order processes
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product
  • Ability to meet and establish deadlines
  • Previous experience working in the field independently and thriving in a fast-paced environment; self-motivated and able to prioritize and organize workloads with little direction
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements
