Job Summary:

You are an experienced clam loader operator seeking a company with great benefits, competitive wages, and a reputation for safety that is second to none. You will be responsible for the operation of a clam loader and horizontal wood grinder and related activities and tasks.

Responsibilities:

Operate clam loader and horizontal wood grinder efficiently and safely
Feed brush, logs and wood debris into a horizontal grinder
Direct loading of hog material onto trucks
May perform other related duties as required
 

Requirements:

Minimum 2000 hours’ experience operating a clam log loader or equivalent within a forest setting
Additional experience operating horizontal wood grinders within a forestry setting preferred
Experience setting up grinding sites and operating excavators and graders would be assets
Experience working in bush during all logging seasons, comfortable travelling logging roads
Experience maintaining equipment (general repair and upkeep)
First Aid Level 1 Certificate, WHMIS and S-100 Basic Fire Suppression & Safety Course would be assets
Must be able to physically react quickly and safely when required
Must be able to climb ladders and steps and navigate uneven terrain by foot
Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
Must have a valid Driver's License

Working Conditions:

Northern B.C. work ranging from Prince George to Smithers (primary work in Burns Lake area)
Out of town work is a strong possibility with being away from home for several weeks at a time
Living allowance provided for out of town work
Day and night shift work depending on weather conditions
Benefits provided by CLAC
Work will be primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
