Job Summary:

As a Lead Fiber Technician you will be responsible for the set up and maintenance of telecommunication services including phone, internet, and television.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in the area of outside plant network support and central office equipment installation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and high quality installation.
  • Lead a team responsible for completing Installations, connections and service additions. Tests, installs, troubleshoot and repair advanced services.
  • Installation, troubleshooting and repair support for equipment.
  • Responsible for a geographical area to complete customer orders dispatched on a daily basis. 

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma from a technical college or five to ten years experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to travel is required.
  • Experience blowing, jetting, and pulling fiber.
  • OSP experience with fiber optic splicing and outside plant fiber network maintenance.
  • OSP training certification would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in Cable locating Fiber and/or Copper underground facilities.
  • COE experience in telecommunication equipment installation.
  • Must have or be willing to acquire CDL.
  • Knowledge of telecommunication equipment and DC power equipment
  • Successful Candidates will be self-motivated and able to organize multiple priorities with little direction.
