Job Summary:

The Quality Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the quality control and quality assurance processes for the division in collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization. This individual oversees a team of contractors and professionals who assess and audit work quality in the field, addressing and resolving quality issues.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads a team of quality professionals, directing day-to-day performance and providing guidance and mentorship to team members. Manages the development and delivery of quality standard training programs for new employees and subcontractors within the organization.
  • Updates existing quality processes, tools, and reporting. Develops all control and assurance documents. Collaborates with Corporate Health & Safety to set standards for safety checks on site. Observes and identifies best practices in quality, and communicates lessons learned through various departments in order to improve performance and quality standards.
  • Manage program wide consistency through strategic process implementation. Oversees the creation and maintenance of the tools and checklists that will identify leading indicators where process or training will be required.
  • Responsible for the change management process as it pertains to Design and Engineering
  • Establishes and reviews Engineering scorecards, verifying and validating associated defects. Identifies and addresses escalations and tracks solutions through to remediation.
  • Addresses internal and external escalations to identify and implement improvements to quality processes.  Develops new innovations and strategies to reduce costs and drive performance, implementing and communicating across the organization.
  • Collaborates directly with internal stakeholders and clients at all levels of the organization to review, discuss, negotiate and establish agreed-upon quality standards impacting the organization.

Key Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in telecommunication / engineering related industry

previous experience managing a team of telecommunication professionals

  • Experience with the following preferred: civil, testing, splicing, placing, residential/commercial build
  • Knowledge of fiber optics, controls and outside plant standards
  • Background in Project Management
  • Proven understanding of quality processes and the development of quality standards
