Job Summary:

You are an experienced mining professional with a passion for training and safety. You’ve been responsible for managing and continually improving equipment operator and maintenance training programs. You have strong attention to detail in ensuring all training standards are in compliance with 30 CFR and Part 48 surface mining requirements. You are a problem solver and continuously look for innovative solutions that can be utilized on projects.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conducts on-going training, assessment, and task certification of equipment operators and maintenance personnel
  • Conducts site orientation, new hire, and MSHA training as needed
  • Manages all training requirements for all US Mining projects
  • Oversees the development and implementation of all US mining training programs
  • Conducts required miner training for all US mining operations
  • Demonstrates proper equipment operating techniques
  • Tracks, records and reports training with relevant record keeping, signoff and filing
  • May perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of mining industry experience with 3+ years’ experience as a mine training professional (MSHA, maintenance and equipment operator training). MSHA certified instructor preferred
  • Complete understanding of production mining and the correct and safe operating of mining equipment including: loaders, haul trucks, bulldozers, excavators, water trucks, blades, drills and various support equipment
  • Excellent administrative skills for the development, implementation and tracking of personnel training
  • Strong ability to assess skills and competencies of operators and their potential
  • Strong ability to interact with site team (field hourly and staff management)
  • Proven track record of supporting safe work practices in a high pressure environment while maintaining project schedule
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; computer literate
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements
