Job Summary:

The role of the Director, Business Operations is to support LTS Business Units in delivering projects and programs in the US & Canada,.

This role will primarily be focused on driving for continuous improvement across all aspects of the business, including employee engagement, customer satisfaction, world class performance, innovation, current strategy alignment and future strategy development.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate,refine,develop and Implement business operations processes across the business unit to ensure accurate, timely, efficient and effective Contract deliveries with focus on achieving and maintaining world class level of service
  • Act as lead interface with P&L Business Units, Ledcor IT and other Ledcor groups in development and implementation of new software applications to improve business operations and project delivery activities, including: evaluation and refinement of operability, user interface, scalability and ROI modeling to ensure effectiveness before implementation.
  • Act as lead for business operations interface with Ledcor Contracts Group to constantly refine and improve process for Subcontractor On-Boarding within ISG and develop / implement key metrics for Contracts group performance with a drive for constant improvement
  • Act as lead business operations interface with HS&E Group to constantly refine and improve “on-boarding” process for Subcontractors, Reporting Performance and streamlining process with a drive for constant improvement
  • Act as lead interface with Ledcor Contracts Group to constantly refine and improve process for Owner Contract and Work Order process within ISG and develop / implement key metrics for Contracts group performance with a drive for constant improvement
  • Support General Manager in all forecasting and reporting necessary through data collection, verification, etc.
  • Source vendors and negotiate contracts which may be required from time to time for purposes of technical Bid Response, proposal writing support, MARCOM, software acquisition and other support services
  • Research and provide long term market forecasts related to future business opportunities in utilities related industries to aid in long term planning and forecasting related to capital needs, human resources, etc.
  • Business operations lead in setup and implementation of project teams to ensure alignment of key performance metrics interlocking Ledcor and Client expectations. This includes identification of key personnel skillsets required to deliver world class service and assisting in facilitation of resource re-assignment and relocation, talent recruiting, acquisition and retention
  • Direct business operations team in supporting P&L Business Units for opportunity qualification, development and proposal response / bid, including “GO/NO-GO” decision making
  • Direct business operations team in proposal development process for large, complex bids working closely with operations staff and with external partner organizations. This includes partner negotiation, pre-proposal and proposal planning, coordination of internal deliverables and activities to ensure timely delivery and facilitation of meetings in collaboration with the proposal development team.
  • Direct business operations team in all employee engagement initiatives, including newsletters, surveys and other engagement functions.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent relevant experience in telecommunications is required.
  • Possesses strong client sector relationships within the utilities and related industries
  • Able to understand and guide teams in achieving fiscal targets – proven success in forecasting and managing budgets
  • Superior communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to work with senior executives
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and ensure that the business outcomes are being achieved
  • Strong technical knowledge of bid and contract documents, drawings, schedules, technologies, equipment, industry practices and contract negotiations.
  • Has developed expertise and skill in the areas of marketing, business development and client relationships leading to repeat business and referrals.
  • Ability to coach and develop team members through constructive feedback and providing opportunities for development 
  • Anticipates problems and challenges, and provides leadership in creating innovative solutions to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Works closely internally and externally with executive level management, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters, influences policymaking.
