Job Summary:

You are a Front-Line Maintenance Technician with 2-3 years of experience looking to build your career with Ledcor Technical Services. You will be responsible for the set up and maintenance of telecommunication services including internet, video services, copper, fiber, inside wire, router installation and rack mounted telco equipment. You will work in customers’ businesses and huts providing exceptional customer service and quality work.

You will be responsible for the set up and maintenance of telecommunication services including internet, video services, copper, fiber, inside wire, router installation and rack mounted telco equipment. We install edge devices, firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, VOIP telephones, with a focus on SD-WAN, Hosted VOIP and NaaS. Although at times we do handle legacy copper work such as DSL, PBX and T1.

The Field Operations Technician 2 will conduct site surveys, complete de marc extensions, rack and stack devices, turn up equipment, run inside CAT5e/CAT6 wiring, and punch down patch panels. You will work in customers’ businesses and huts providing exceptional customer service and quality work per LTS Services standards.

  • Strong MS Office skills in Word & Excel
  • A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity
  • Previous experience working in the field independently and thriving in a fast-paced environment; self-motivated and able to prioritize and organize workloads with little direction
  • Ability to manage a physically demanding position which involves sitting, standing, bending, lifting, working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Affirm competence of the following tools:RJ-45/RG-11 RD/YL/BL crimpers, butt set, tone & probe, punch down tool with 66 & 110 blades, wrenches, screwdrivers, multimeter, computer cable kit, login and config, p touch labeler, fiber cleaning kit, client fiber and ladder
  • Read and execute a scope of work
  • Become familiar with LTS Services software and tools ie: Ledcor connect, The Hub, Workday, CMS, Share Point, I auditor, click software, click compliance, spares tracker usage, Stratasync, and Blue training.
  • Self-Motivated and able to prioritize and organize workloads with little direction
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds and carrying 28-foot extension ladder), working at heights (15 to 25 feet above the ground), in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)
  • Previous experience working in the field independently and thriving in a fast-paced environment; self-motivated and able to prioritize and organize workloads with little direction
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Affirm competence of the following tools: JDSU Platform / 10G, OTDR, Brady Labeler, T&B Crimper 8 Die, Lace basic in rack, Heat Gun, Power meter, Digi Scope, Insulated Tools
  • Read and execute a scope of work and or method of procedure
  • Quote Extensions
  • Computer literate and proficient in Windows XP and MS Office environment
  • Become familiar with LTS Services software and tools ie: Ledcor connect, The Hub, Workday, CMS, Share Point, I auditor, click software, click compliance, spares tracker usage, Stratasync, and Blue training.
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license
  • Must have an maintain a clear driver’s history
  • Successful completion of pre-employment and random drug & alcohol requirements
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds and carrying 28-foot extension ladder), working at heights (15 to 25 feet above the ground), in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)
