Job Summary:

You are a project accountant early in your career, looking for an exciting opportunity. Reporting to the Project Controller, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely entry and reporting of data in the company financial systems. This includes accounts receivable, subcontract management, payroll, equipment time entry, accounts payable and month end. Interaction and communication with management and project teams are important to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of data. You are a problem solver and continuously look for innovative solutions that can be utilized on projects.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the collection and submission of documentation required for invoicing, including statutory declarations and WCB clearance letters, etc
  • Prepare and submit LEMs to the client
  • Collecting third party invoices to support client billings
  • Understand project contractual commercial terms
  • Process electronic billing submissions, as required
  • Prepare monthly equipment rental billings
  • Prepare progress billings, invoices and holdback releases
  • Set up subcontractors in JD Edwards and PCS

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role and/or a post-secondary business degree
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, able to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Relevant industry and JD Edwards experience would be an asset
  • Flexibility in schedule and travel/transfer to job site, a definite asset
