Project Accountant

Job Summary:

You are an experienced Project Accountant and will be responsible for the accurate and timely entry and reporting of data in the company financial systems. This includes accounts receivable, subcontract management, payroll, equipment time entry, accounts payable and month end. Interaction and communication with management and project teams are important to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of data. You are a problem solver and continuously look for innovative solutions that can be utilized on projects.

Essential Responsibilities

• Coordinate the collection and submission of documentation required for invoicing, including statutory declarations and WCB clearance letters, etc
• Prepare and submit LEMs to the client
• Prepare progress billings, invoices and holdback releases
• Reconcile client billings system and adjust as required
• Pull PCS report weekly, reconcile to daily invoices
• Process progress billings in JD Edwards
• Run and review daily exception reports, provide comments and distribute to management for review

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role and/or a post-secondary business degree
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, able to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and organization skills
• Relevant industry and JD Edwards experience would be an asset
• Commitment to continuous improvement and excellent customer service
• Flexibility in schedule and travel/transfer to job site, a definite asset
