Job Summary:

You are a Project Controls Specialist experienced in planning, scheduling, cost controls, progress tracking, change management and supporting process implementation for various tracking and reporting systems. Reporting to the Project Controls Supervisor.

*This position does offer the ability to telecommute.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide end to end Field Project Controls support to the Project Management & Operations Team
  • Provide cost controls and change management support in liaison with project team
  • Building and preparing complex reports and dashboards in Excel
  • Develop and implement progress tracking processes in database applications (i.e. QuickBase, SharePoint, Microsoft Power Apps) for project team
  • Compile, review, analyze, and report large quantities of data via the database applications (i.e. QuickBase, SharePoint, Microsoft Power Apps)
  • Develop project progress and productivity reports
  • Facilitate the planning of project milestones and deliverables; assist the development of the project schedule; maintain and update the schedule throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Continuously improve project administrative processes and procedures to enhance project efficiency
  • Perform other related duties as required including but not limited to travel to various job sites and projects offices

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or Finance
  •  3-5 years of experience in similar role
  • Experience with engineering and construction-based cost and scheduling systems (progress and productivity tracking, performance measurement, scheduling, etc.)
  • Knowledge of end to end construction process
  • Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Willing to contribute actively in team activities, sharing experiences and ideas
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, with the proven ability to juggle and reprioritize based on competing business demands
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including the ability to manipulate large amounts of data and perform complex functions within Excel
  • Knowledge of fiber design and construction process is an asset
  • Knowledge of QuickBase, Power BI, SharePoint, MS Power Apps is an asset
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Tilos is an asset
