Job Summary:

The OSP Engineering Project Manager is responsible for the management of day-to-day OSP Engineering, Design and Permitting efforts, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget, guiding the project team, while ensuring Ledcor’s Health, Safety, Environmental protection and Quality and control.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all Engineering, Design, GIS, and Permitting efforts of OSP fiber projects, managing multiple design and engineering teams, internal or external vendors, while delivering high-quality network designs and permitting on time and within budget.
  • Guide the fundamental design and engineering scope and recommend construction methodologies, from early stages of the project through Close-Out deliverables.
  • Coordinates Environmental and ROW permitting
  • Ensures that projects are implemented according to approved Ledcor and government guidelines
  • Develops and maintains the project schedule in conjunction with project team to meet milestones and completion dates.
  • Establishes contractual relationships and manages day to day operations with various engineering and permitting vendors.
  • Understands method of bidding, purchasing, negotiating, contracting, cash flow, expediting.
  • Maintains, tracks, and reports all financial aspects of project including forecasts, billing, and documentation.
  • Demonstrates leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of related work experience or combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager or in a similar role
  • Completed post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering or related discipline an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, current construction practices and methodology.
  • Strong negotiation/management skills.
  • Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule.
  • Strong understanding of construction costs and budgets.
