Job Summary:

You are a Mine Surveyor with experience in open pit mining operations. You will be reporting directly to the Mining Engineer to assist with daily survey controls. You are problem solver and continuously look for innovative solutions that can be utilized on projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manages all aspects of survey control and measurement in an open pit mining environment 
  • Advises on drill pattern layout and controls
  • Monitors stockpiles and waste dump levels 
  • Monitors highwall conditions and maintains elevation controls 
  • Surveys haul road layouts and appropriate berm heights
  • Maintains site status maps 
  • Compiles month end volume calculations to provide appropriate project assessments and recommendations


  • Previous experience working in an open pit mine environment
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Understanding of GPS survey systems and drafting software
  • Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, able to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form
  • Able to read and understand construction documents
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and physical capability testing

Work Conditions:

  • Perform work and travel to various mine sites and heavy civil projects throughout Nevada
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime hours may be required 
  • Perform work in an outside environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, dirt and noise.
