Job Summary:

As a the Recruiter, Military Veterans, you will be a member of the Talent Acquisition team, responsible for driving the full cycle military recruitment process within Ledcor Technical Services' Military Pilot Program in the US. You will play a central role in building and developing a qualified pool of candidates and will act as a talent scout, by being actively engaged in the external labour market, targeting individuals to consider working at Ledcor.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Define positions/roles that will be part of the Military Recruitment Pilot Program – identify roles that are a good fit for military personnel transitioning to civilian life in collaboration with operating group (LTS) and business HR.
  • Understand what military skills (MOS) are transferable to these positions/roles and create a guide to support future assessments (“skills translator tool”).
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the transitioning sectors of the different military branches in USA (i.e.: USO Pathfinders, Texas Veteran Commission, Hire Heroes etc) and any other veteran service organizations as required.
  • Assesses candidate skills capabilities, ensuring candidates possess the right competencies, behaviours and cultural fit, to meet both short term and long-term human capital and business objectives
  • Align our military recruitment efforts with our traditional recruitment practices
  • Educates hiring managers on the recruitment process at Ledcor and military recruitment and onboarding best practices
  • Works with Talent Attraction, HR and Business team members to ensure that all career fair and recruitment event logistics are organized and communicated, team members are prepared and participate in events as required
  • Provides full life cycle recruitment support for military veterans including proactive sourcing, screening, interviewing, assessment and offer presentation/negotiation
  • Participates in the management, review and revisions for the overall Military pilot program documentation, including the implementation of the program tools and guidelines
  • Develops and maintains internal relationships with Talent Acquisition, Business HR, Hiring Managers and Business Leaders to understand business requirements and deliverables
  • Compiles data, conducts analysis and prepares reports on military veteran recruitment activities
  • Create and maintain detailed, accurate records in the Applicant Tracking System (Workday) and recruitment files (S drive, The Hub etc). Compile and deliver recruitment metrics and reports with respective teams. Ensure all internal control, compliance and governance guidelines are met
  • Collaborate with Business HR, Hiring Managers, Business Leaders and Recruitment to understand short-term and long-term recruitment needs for specific business units


  • College, Trade or Technical Diploma in Human Resources
  • Military experience and leadership
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a military recruitment position in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Previous in-house military recruitment experience
  • Demonstrated experience in full cycle end to end recruitment and candidate experience process
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with business leaders, and influence decisions related to recruitment and hiring practices
  • Highly proficient in the use of behavioural interviewing, with the ability to coach and mentor managers in performing effective interviews
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, combined with experience communicating effectively with a diverse customer group
  • Excellent organizational and execution skills, and the ability to work effectively in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively interpret position requirements, conduct a hiring plan discussion and assess candidates against the position profile   
  • Ability to change pace in a multi-faceted dynamic environment
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently
  • Experience collaborating within a broader team
