Job Summary:

The Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for applying the professional Health, Safety and Environment practices at a work/project site. This individual has knowledge of safety management systems and legislation and applies them in a work setting with limited supervision. The employee will oversee safety for the project.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provides independent advice to operations management regarding the company HS&E program, based on a solid understanding of program execution throughout the project lifecycle. Also conducts safety orientation to all subcontract partners.
  • Conducts simple investigations, identifying root causes and creating flash reports. Also conducts safety audits with crews to ensure safety compliance.
  • Conducts Hazard Assessments, identifying and addressing unsafe conditions and behaviors. Collects leading and lagging indicators and performs simple calculations.
  • Supports the company case management program and monitors return-to-work process.
  • Conducts focus audits of site specific standards and reports findings. Verifies implementation of corrective actions.


  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry Health and Safety experience
  • Ability to be on project site 75% of time - will require regular in-state travel
  • Thorough understanding of OHS programs, policies and requirements
  • Demonstrated intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop, and an aptitude for learning various computer software systems
  • Ability to explain information and persuade others in straightforward situations
  • Ability to solve standard problems through analysis, evaluating and applying standard procedures
  • Presentation Skills

  • Preferred skills and experience:
