Job Summary:

The Senior Outside Plant (OSP) Engineer is the subject matter expert for all technical issues related to design and construction of outside plant telecommunications networks. The Senior OSP Engineer is familiar with telecommunications industry standards, codes and best practices and good working knowledge of a variety of technologies and architectures, including fiber (long-haul, metro, FTTX) and coaxial cable RF, and associated civil and aerial structures.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • The Senior OSP Engineer is self-motivated and brings an innovative approach to solving problems and finding ways to enhance design and construction productivity
  • Supports projects over their entire life cycle, from bidding and estimating, design and engineering, construction and project close-out.

  • Is responsible for setting up Ledcor’s Design and Engineering subcontractors for success

  • Is familiar with client standards and processes and ensure that these are communicated to the design team and translated into standard company processes, procedures and technical bulletins

  • Perform quality and safety reviews of outside plant design.

  • Will be the key company representative with clients on all technical issues.


  • ​Eight plus years of experience within telecommunications design and engineering (experience from an engineering consulting space would be an asset)
  • Experience with fiber optic network design
  • Knowledge of telecommunication design software (ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD)
  • Able to work autonomously while still being able to collaborate with fellow colleagues and clients
  • The ability to take ownership of professional learning and growth
  • Professional Engineering Licensure from any state considered an asset
