Job Summary:

You are a Field Construction Coordinator with knowledge in Telecommunications or Outside Plant construction. You ideally would have two to five years of experience. You are an integral part of the project team and will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing project plans under the supervision of the Project Manager. In addition to ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, you will assist operations staff with safety and quality control.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Promotes a culture of health, safety, and environmental protection on the project by taking an active role in the implementation of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to achieve compliance of Ledcor HS&E standards, applicable OSHA acts, regulations, and codes
  • Solid understanding of current telecom construction practices and an in-depth knowledge of drill and aerial procedures.
  • Prepares purchase requisitions for approval and assists with procurement of materials and equipment
  • Supports the subcontract management process through the tendering and awarding of work or supply materials, processes invoices and progress claims and assists with the review of documents and inquiries
  • Participates in the tracking of project milestones and financial deadlines; assists with the maintenance of the project schedule and baseline schedule and reviews with Project Manager/Superintendent
  • Ensures project materials are supplied and work is completed in compliance with the Project Quality Program.
  • Ensures that the projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, applicable building codes and ensures high quality standards are maintained.
  • Maintains, and advances the construction schedule in conjunction with project team; ensures project milestones and completion dates are met.
  • Maintains a thorough daily report that accurately tracks site progress, events, inspections, and other relevant information.


  • Two to five years of related work experience or a combination of relevant education and experience. Knowledge of Outside Plant construction or other telecommunications construction projects is necessary.
  • Completed post-secondary education in Telecommunications, Construction, Engineering or related discipline is an asset
  • Working knowledge of construction or telecom documents, drawings, specifications and current practices and methodology
  • Ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule and budget
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, understand and interpret stakeholder needs and identify solutions
  • Capable of anticipating constructability issues in moderately complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule
  • Skilled at promoting teamwork with project team and stakeholders
  • Ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiar with scheduling software such as Suretrack, P3 and/or P6 and Contract Manager
