Job Summary:

This is your opportunity to play a key role in this landmark infrastructure project. The HR Site Advisor will be responsible for the day-to-day HR coordination and act as the central point of coordinator for site and shared service HR. You will lead a team of Field Employee Coordinator and have oversight camp & travel, recruitment & onboarding and support progressive discipline.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Acts as the single point of contact to coordinate and facilitate onboarding of employees to site.
  • Work with the recruiting and onboarding team to organize onboarding of employees by determining whether the employee is cleared and work with Assistant Superintendents to determine who employee will report to
  • Supports foreman with camp and travel information for new hires including room bookings, travel and start dates, and other site details
  • Works with onboarding to track the progress of all employees on boarding and coordinates their arrival to site
  • Supervises a team of FECs and provides daily direction on matters including shift rotation, camp issues, flights and shuttle travel
  • Supports with progressive discipline of salaried and hourly employees from completion of discipline forms, conversations and submission.
  • Reports and interfaces with Industrial Relations regarding matters affecting the unionized workforce, including supporting disciplinary/grievance related issues and employee investigations.
  • Assists with the coordination of, and participates in, Labour Management Meetings with Union, Site Mgt, Stewards and IR Team.
  • Assists finance with the resolution of any unionized payroll related issues 
  • Is a site contact for the Union Reps.
  • Facilitates attaining site access for Union Reps and others as requested.  


  • A minimum of three years of experience in an administrative or coordination role with exposure to human resources and / or unionized workforces is required
  • Completion of post-secondary coursework in human resources will be highly regarded
  • Previous experience in the construction industry is required and experience in a site based HR role will be highly regarded
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Must possess tact, diplomacy and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent customer service focus and team player
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office

Work Conditions

  • Site based position – 10 days on & 4 days off
  • Camp provided
