Job Summary:

You are a Journeyperson Millwright interested in the oil and gas industry with a high personal commitment to safety. You will be responsible for scheduled maintenance, repair, installation and modification of pumps and various other equipment. The goal of this position is to maximize uptime, quality and production, and have a high personal commitment to safety.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Comprehends diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures
  • Understands how to fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances
  • Aligns and tests equipment to make any necessary adjustments
  • Performs predictive and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts when necessary
  • Services and repairs hydraulic, pneumatic and programmable logic controls
  • May do some tack welding and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts

Qualifications

  • Must be a registered Journeyperson Millwright from a recognized provincial authority
  • Must possess experience within the oil and gas industry, preferably in a tailing environment
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Must possess valid CSO or BSO and CSTS 2020 (training provided for selected candidates)
  • Welding experience would be an asset
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision

Work Conditions

  • Camp is not provided for this project
  • 14/7 shift rotation, working 10-12 hours per day
  • Candidates local to Ft. McMurray will be given preference due to the location of the project
  • Transportation provided from Ft. McMurray to site daily
  • Benefits provided by CLAC
