Job Summary:

You are an accountant that is enrolled in the CPA program (or other equivalent education) and experienced in a variety accounting month-end duties including inventory and fixed asset accounting, producing monthly management reporting and analysis, and preparing budgets and forecasts.

In this role, you will be focused on completing month end accounting entries and back-up schedules, but also be involved in preparation of forecast information, variance analysis and interaction with key operations personnel.

This work is currently done remotely, with likelihood of returning partially to an office environment in 2022.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Participating in month end preparation of schedules, back-up calculations and journal entries
  • Reviewing and proposing month end accruals
  • Preparing variance reports for monthly reporting against budget
  • Scheduling and attending monthly meetings with Operations to discuss monthly results and asset values
  • Updating depreciation schedules with asset utilization information
  • Maintaining fixed asset continuity schedules
  • Preparing and running inventory schedules to reflect additions, utilization and valuation changes
  • Preparing accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial forecasts
  • Assist with reviewing expenditures for passthrough charging to clients
  • Lead, mentor and supervise one direct report
  • Lead preparation of key areas of the annual budget
  • Take on special projects and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ full cycle accounting experience
  • Enrolled in the CPA program or equivalent
  • Demonstrated accounting experience with well-rounded knowledge of standard accounting concepts and practices
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with expert knowledge of Excel
  • Advanced computer skills using accounting software; familiarity with JD Edwards or similar ERP system would be an asset
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interfacing with operations personnel, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, organize and manage multiple tasks, and set priorities
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
