Job Summary:

You are a knowledgeable Welder Apprentice that is looking to gain experience working in an industrial shop setting. We are looking for a Welder Apprentice to support us in our Module Fabrication shop in Nisku, AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for working in accordance with quality, safety, and efficiency standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repair of heavy mobile construction equipment such as loaders, dozers, excavators, graders, pavers, plow/sanding trucks and asphalt plants.
  • Interprets work orders and technical drawings, and writes service reports
  • Perform rebuilds and wear plating major components for a variety of equipment
  • Fabricate one off item’s working with engineering from design to final build
  • Follow industry and internal programs and inspection procedures
  • Engage and participates in Ledcor safety policies and procedures
  • Complete maintenance records and documentation as required May perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be a registered Welder Apprentice from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Ledcor requires possession of CSTS 2020 (Construction Safety Training Systems). Successful candidates without it will be set up with the appropriate training required.
  • Must possess AWP ticket
  • Must possess Fall Protection ticket
  • Must possess valid Elevated Work Platform
  • Emergency Level or Standard First Aid Level certification is considered an asset
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skill
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Able to interpret rough drawings, can conceptualize  
  • Strong understanding of various metals & compounds, rods, wire, gases, abrasives, etc.
