Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity awaits you as a Heavy Equipment Technician. With the guidance of a qualified Heavy Equipment Journeyman, you will pursue the Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician designation.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Help Performs preventative maintenance including filter and lube services
  • Help Diagnoses faults or malfunctions and repairs or replaces defective parts, components, or systems
  • Keeps tools and support equipment in safe and operational working condition while maintaining a clean work environment
  • Help Test & repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Learn to Interprets work orders and technical manuals
  • May perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be a 1st or 2nd year Apprentice (willing to indenture the right candidate)
  • Can be signed up in appropriate apprenticeship or Ledcor can sign up the candidate
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Must possess a valid form of government issued photo identification
  • Must have a strong safety culture and willingness to work in a TEAM environment
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Previous Fort McMurray plant site experience, as well as mining experience, are both assets

Work Conditions

  • Local position NO Camp provided
  • $50 per day non camp premium
  • Shift: 14/7 working 10 or 12 hours per day; night shift may be required
  • Benefits provided by CLAC
  • Work conditions/weather: Work will be primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
