Job Summary:

As a Contracts Specialist, you will be responsible for participating in the development of corporate-wide contracts, and vendor management related activities with a focus on Information Services type contracts. Utilizing your excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills, you will be responsible for supporting the contract life cycle from development, participating in negotiation through to execution and ongoing compliance management. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify risks, collect service level requirements, and partner with Legal, Risk, Cyber Security and Business Unit managers as required.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supports the life cycle of Ledcor contracts including drafting, revising, negotiating, executing of new and existing contracts; ensures contracts are aligned with requesting departmental guiding principles and strategies
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to identify operational risks and develops service level requirements as related to Ledcor contracts. Assists with development of vendor selection and negotiation strategies
  • Develops and administers processes to evaluate and monitor contract compliance, recommending and implementing amendments as needed. Reviews select preferred vendor relationships and monitors contract compliance indicators in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Delivers the aggregation of vendor contract performance data and collaborates and follows through with business partners in obtaining a contractual remedy, developing a remediation plan, or developing a vendor exit strategy
  • Performs supplier availability and capability market studies specially in Information Services portfolio and provide recommendation of alternative and cost-effective vendors. Develops and distributes Requests for Proposal (RFPs), evaluating and consolidating responses for assigned initiatives in those related areas
  • Assures vendor contracts are loaded onto CLM technology tool in relation to the Strategic Sourcing. Develops supply chain and costing reports in collaboration with business unit managers. Develops training materials in support of SOP and OM; provides training, as appropriate, to relevant internal groups
  • Leads internal contract compliance process for adhering to sourcing and procurement practices. Plans and executes implementation/rollout of new services/vendors and assists with related change management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English / Communications, Business Administration / Business / Contracts, Legal, Supply Chain Management or a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Contracts and Legal
  • APICS, SCMP or similar certification in supply management. Project management certification an asset
  • 4+ years of experience in contract and vendor management; experience managing contracts specially in information services area is highly preferred
  • Experience participating in negotiation sessions with suppliers and service providers
  • Understanding the process involved in initiating and managing sourcing projects and initiatives
  • Previous experience in administrating procurement activities. Solid knowledge of contract structure and vendor management
  • Perform logistics handling within a Contract Lifecycle Management tool
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills / strong command of the English language; experience developing contract terms, conditions, and pricing agreements
  • Proven negotiation skills, and exceptional vendor relationship management skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate complex concepts
  • Ability to understand business requirements and to build and foster effective client relationships at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and result oriented environment; ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Direct experience with a CLM s/w solution. (Conga is preferred)
