Job Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. The Project Manager implements the project plan and schedule, ensures safety and quality control, and provides guidance to project staff.

The Project Manager assumes a leadership role and provides guidance to project staff in the development and analysis of complex schedules on large and design-build projects. Experienced and fully competent in the profession, this individual works independently, and acts as a resource for colleagues.

Essential Responsibilities:

    • Manages all implementation aspects of OSP/ISP projects on time and within budget
    • Develops and maintains the project schedule in conjunction with project team to meet milestones and completion dates.
    • Establishes and maintains effective communications with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project’s ongoing progression. Leads project meetings.
    • Establishes contractual relationships and manages day to day operations with various vendors and subcontractors.
    • Understands method of bidding, purchasing, negotiating, contracting, cash flow, expediting.
    • Maintains, tracks, and reports all financial aspects of project including forecasts, billing, and documentation.
    • Demonstrates leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project.
    • As otherwise directed

Qualifications

    • 8+ years of related work experience or combination of relevant education and experience.
    • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager or in a similar role
    • Completed post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering or related discipline an asset.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, current construction practices and methodology.
    • Strong negotiation/management skills.
    • Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule.
    • Strong understanding of construction costs and budgets.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple stakeholders and anticipate stakeholder needs.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
