We are seeking a Quality Coordinator to join our Ledcor team in Fort McMurray, AB starting in a full-time role.  The Quality Coordinator, under the direction and guidance of the team, will be responsible for monitoring welding operations completing visual inspections and quality control duties related to major Oilsands projects.  This includes procedure review, validating related quality processes, and assisting the project QA/QC supervisor with the implementation of quality procedures.

In this role, the successful applicant will be exposed to and gain experience in all aspects of welding operations including quality management, equipment operation and maintenance,  crew interaction, project and activity management, and process management. This role involves some travel within Alberta and will provide applicants an opportunity to build their career with one of Alberta’s oldest and most respected employers.

Essential Requirements

  • Read and understand specification requirements for the related piping and construction activities
  • Communicate the requirements of the ITP’s ( Inspection & Test Plans), code requirements and client specifications to the craft personnel
  • Monitor ongoing welding to ensure performance to welding procedures.
  • Visual inspections of completed welding to code requirements
  • Coordinate piping hydro test tracking and coordination
  • Complete quality processes as required by project
  • Identify Non-conformances to the Project QA/QC supervisor
  • Ensure Quality Records are maintained for System turnover
  • Provides input to the development of the project quality plan
  • Provides input to the development of Ledcor’s quality program

Qualifications

  • Completion of or currently completing a post secondary education with a related degree, diploma (Welding Engineering Technician) or Trade Certification
  • 0-2 years related work experience or combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Experience with non-destructive examination
  • Strong interest in Quality Management
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems based on clearly defined procedures
  • Strong computer background including experience with MS Office.
